I was able to reuse my plywood by adding a small #10 washer on with the screws. Putting it back up was fairly easy as the wood was already cut to size and the screw holes already "drilled" by the nails.

Insulation will make a difference for you come warm to hot weather too and it is also sound deadening. I wasn't able to knock it all out but it helped make a rain sound like a rain on a tin roof instead of a hail storm. :)

DUH, such a simple fix, Good idea!! Time & cost saving in one simple move! Thats why I like this forum, sharing of good ideas. I didn't have this problem but it will come in handy for other stuff. Thanks!!

You could also use a snap washer and then cover with a button for a cleaner look. :D I have seen these in big box stores and Ace HW.
