The bed is already built and installed. It's actually not a true king. 6' long by 5'11 wide. This will give us plenty of room for our two year old to sleep with us as well.

Road inspector how do you plan on sealing up the whole when not in use??

You could add a cargo door to use with your window ac.

The cargo door was installed at the factory. Here's another look at the set up from outside:

I knew my house ac worked nice with the window units so I had the factory install the cargo door at a counter height. Works great. When it's not needed(spring and fall) I store the ac in my garage. Also allows for a screen insert for some extra fresh air when the ac is not needed.

Like the others said. I will install a cargo door. It will act as a rain cover when in use & is oversized to accommodate any size I want to put in. A waterproofed plywood frame will be built to fill up the void. Thats my plan any way. Others have had good success with this. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
