Thanks Prem. We took the wells cargo to Pershing State Park gathering last weekend instead of the teardrop. I think it was well received. Figured out a few things. Loved the "front porch" and side table.

Saw some neat features during the trailer tour so I have some more ideas bouncing around upstairs.... ;)

I've got some changes in store for the upper galley that I will post once I get going on that.

Thanks for visiting!

You got a good early jump on the camping season also. Good completion timing!

Glad your cargo trailer conversion was well received at the gathering.

Thanks for the comments...... if it helps it isn't done yet. I have to finish the upper galley, figure out my battery/batteries and box, mount propane bottle and run the line to furnace, etc. I guess in truth they may never be done just like a teardrop.

Thanks for visiting.

Like a house or an oil painting, these projects are never "finished." One just gets to a point where one decides to move in, hang it or go camp in it!

An upper gallery update. Well it's a bit different than the original idea but I think it will work.

Image
This shot is with the galley open to the back. The galley can be closed when the top flap is folded down and the table is folded up.

A view from the inside looking at galley. Instead of folding table or sliding doors we ended up with vinyl with velcro to attach to the galley.

A view from inside with the vinyl rolled up and the sliding interior table forward.

Thanks Prem, 8ball_99, and Sir Joey. I am rather pleased with the way it turned out.

I have more to do....

I have the battery on hand but haven't quite made up my mind where. 78 pounds, reluctant to put on tongue. It is AGM so back under galley is potential.

Propane for the furnace. Pondering on just attaching cylinder when needed.

Air conditioner.... Got some ideas but nothing concrete yet.

But we camped in her up at Pershing last month and liked it. Additional trips are planned so we will live and learn (and adjust).

Edited to add: We love being able to back up and unload the totes to clean/repack/etc. Just takes a couple minutes and is much handier than the teardrop's drawers and cabinet doors.

Thanks for visiting.

I left the rear of my teardrop open, without drawers for that same reason. I contemplated how much of the volume of the galley area would get taken up with built-in drawers and decided against it. I only put in a sliding mini-table to set the Coleman stove on to cook. Everything else was in boxes or totes, including lots of firewoods.

The cuteness factor was near zero. The functionality factor was still low because of the odd shape of the rear and the curve. (Boxes would get edges smashed when the galley lid came down.) The airflow and increased fuel efficiency made up for it, kinda sorta.

That fold-down table to the inside from the back of your galley is soooo awesome. It really looks comfortable in there.
