Sharon, i think you were a little more tactful! ;) randy, it is certainly a minority of folks, but with this big of a gathering, it is good to be proactive rather than have folks get less than their share because they were polite and waited to the end.

You guys bring up a good topic. Many times, people forget that there are maybe another 100 other people behind them in line. Having been to plenty of potlucks in the last 9 years, I just get a taste of those items I want, not a plateful. There's nothing more discouraging than preparing a load of food and nothing to eat when you get there. You can always snack on your donation prior to taking it over though. Worst case....Minden Ne. in '05...Another teardropper and I had to run to Circle K and get hot dogs...nothing left but some melon and hydrox cookies, and we weren't the last table called. Keep in mind...there are others behind you and they're hungry also. Doug

Thank you very well said. At IRG we were last and there were things gone and lots of deserts left. The next day they reversed the line so we could be first. We made sure there was enough for others because we understood what it was like to be last in line!

We do not care for crowds so we tend to go to the back of the line where there is air. By the time we get to the front we kinda know how to balance food and drink. And get to hear what others think of the food.

But being left with only a cake and the foods that others did not like the looks of is not a happy seen.

So Paper Plates it is.
Thank You in 17 or 3 sentences.

With much regret, I will not be able to be there after all.   Between my wife and I it looks like we just cannot get away for that weekend. I was so looking forward to meeting some of the folks who make this forum so great. I had paid my registration early on and it looked like we were good to go, but life has a way of getting in the way. Maybe next year... Maybe another place... Have a great time!!!

Looks promising for Davis Creek... My wife may take a semester off from her Masters' program which means September would be free!!!! Just need to make her commit. Hope to see you there or maybe somewhere before that. Is Cabela's doing a show this summer?

David & I are planning to be there. The plan is to drive up from Sacramento from our daughter's as it is our plan to be at her house helping her before hand. March 9 we became grandparents and have been going up to help her.

My dad's (95) health hasn't been real stable of late, so I make plans but always know I may have to change them. Nice that there is only a $5 difference in registering at the Dam gathering verses before hand, so I don't have to worry about paying ahead. Grant, thank you for that!

We may have a couple of friends coming along as well, but not for sure yet. I know they would enjoy themselves if they can make it.
Martha ;)

Sorry to see your not going to make it Mel. I really wanted to see a Foamie in person.

I can’t make and bring any thing from Kansas. I’m gonna to be out camping about 10 days before May 1. I’ll
just have to get some store bought food in CA.

Thanks Grant for taking care of My Registration. Robert F. got hold of me, I’ll be able to get his item delivered.

Just a quick update, this morning:

Final T-shirt order has been placed, only a small amount of extras will be available at the gathering after everyone's pre-orders have been handed out.

We will be closing Pre-Registration at noon on Sunday, April 28, as after that we will have limited internet access, and quite frankly will be too busy getting everything ready ... ;) ...! That doesn't mean that Registration will be closed ... we have plenty of room, so come on up and just register at the event!

Looking forward to seeing everyone! With about 130 pre-registered, it's turning out to be bigger than we thought it would be, and we're thrilled! As always ...

CHEERS!

My bad ... ...!

Pre-Registrations close on the 28th, not the 18 as previously stated ... it's been corrected in the original post. Y'All have another full week to pre-register ... ;)
