Rebuild parts

I've got a 1953 Coleman red lantern that won't hold pressure. Is there a source for rebuild parts and pieces?????

If it won't hold pressure, the fuel cap gasket is probably shot. That is the most likely problem but not the only one. There are many sellers on Ebay of the cap gaskets. I just saw a new one tonight with some very good prices. Have no idea of the quality.

Yours is probably a large cap and those will work. On ebay search "coleman gaskets". The older ones 40's something and earlier have smaller ones. I have seen 3 different types of gaskets in my little collection and experience. One of my lanterns from 1927 I have an O ring in it. It works but the cap doesn't screw all the way down.

Randy...some of the really old ones had a lead gasket/washer in them, my Quiklite has one. Once it gets marked up and doesn't seal...heat them and get the lead to flow again and it will smooth itself out. I'd bet that was what your '27 had in it. Doug

I burned and scraped out the old gasket in the fuel cap and after some fresh fuel and a few tries,,,, she works
