The Centennial Lanterns and Stoves

Postby campmaster-k » Wed Oct 12, 2011 2:20 pm

I have recently discovered the Centennial models from Coleman. I know I am not worthy to own one of these beautiful creations. When I see one on the net or on ebay it makes me sad . It gives me a feeling of deep void. Emptiness. Loss of hope. Those of you who do own Centennial Models Cherish them, keep them from cold and rust. Keep them from dents and breaking drops. Keep them from all harm. And please post no pictures of them that I might see, I just cant take it.

I just bought one at a Coleman outlet in Lake George, NY. Was missing the bail and the gas cap, they gave it to me for half price, 34.00. I promise I won't post a picture.

I had to sign an agreement with my pain specialist that I won't share. As you hammer your hand keep that thought in mind.

Opiates, in my experience, won't address the root cause of pain, they just cover up the symptoms. You'll have to learn not to flagellate.

I've heard of these centennial models in the wild. I have yet to see one up close, but one friend of a friend told me about one his buddy had... made me cry to hear of the abuse!! Confined to a damp garage, casually thrown in with lesser camping supplies *sigh*.

Hugs,

Gus - The opiates my not get to the root of the pain but it is a step in the right direction!

Ratkity - Maybe you are on to something, maybe the Angelic Centennials are lore. Maybe just legend, I have not been witness to one. That makes me feel a little better. Untill I see one for real ----- they do not exist!

Trust me! Opiates are a road to nowhere but I rarely go a day w/o! I tread verrrrrrry lightly though. Just so my Dr's and I harbor no "illusions" I keep track of every 1/4 of a pill I take. Color me paranoid!

Have fun with your lanterns. Sounds like you're nearly on an opiate high with em. Enjoy!

Cheers,

Gus

Kirk, Don't fret over those centennials, they are a far cry from the Coleman of the good ole days.

Ditto....all it has is a badge on it...quality isn't near what the old ones are. The real value is maybe in an unfired one, in an original box...then just hang onto it for like 40 years....however...collect whatever ya want! If I stumbled across one...I'd probably get it, but I wouldn't pay much for it...not my thing. Doug
