Right now, our TV is a 20 year old Suburban. (not my primary choice....would like something newer when finances allow, but the old girl is still chugging)

Image

I've seen in threads here where you guys use old and classic TV's for towing your rigs. Figured this would be the forum to post pics of old iron that is still serving you. I personally don't care if it is pretty or classic....just old and still working. What do you have?

Also, if it is something you've rebuilt and is nice...brag a little.

While it will pull it....it's not my favorite to tow with....sadly lacking in adequate brakes, and kinda underpowered. From where I live, everything is either up or down hills. 1959 AMC...Cross Country. front seats fold down into a bed...Borg Warner OD. Doug

Here's one I tow with occasionally for short trips since it only gets 10 MPG.
Got to fix that some day since the last mechanic put in a bigger squirter without asking me. :D Danny

Jeep Wrangler unlimited....fun vehicle but not really a great tow vehicle. But a good trade off I guess. I am just starting a light weight Teardrop to hit Slowcowboys gathering in Wyoming this August. That is about a 3000 mile trip. I may change my mind about the Jeep as a TV after that.

1959 Rambler wagon like yours Doug was the car I learned to drive in. My brother and I spent many nights "camping" in the fold down back seat while the rest of the family was in the motel. We would get up in the middle of the night and buy sodas from the machines. Sodas weren't allowed at our home so we were being sorta bad :tipsy: . Danny

Thanks guys......looking good. Especially the really old rigs.

BTW, myperini.....that 49 Chevy brings back some memories. That was my grandfather's car back when I was a kid. His had the visor too. I remember riding in that car.

He totalled it out in downtown Shiner, Tx back in the early 70's. Almost killed him. Everybody in town was terrified of him when they saw his black 49 out and about. He started driving before there we such things as stop lights and signs, so he figured such things didn't apply to him. 8)
