Design & Construction of anything that's not a teardrop e.g. Grasshoppers or Sunspots

Postby jdarkoregon » Sat Jan 03, 2009 12:51 pm

I'm coming into this thread late, but some thoughts are boucing around in my head.

For conversation How about instead of considering a standy or bunks for multiple people, how about just a bigger bed.

If two people sleep in a standard 4 X 8 which would have a bed width of about 44 inches. 1/2 of that being 22 inches. total width for three people would be 66 inches WHICH is about the width of a queen sized bed.

I think but really ain't sure, but isn't a three person tent only about 60 inches wide?

I would need at least 88" (22"x4people) Plus my 9 year old takes up a double bed by herself, I've never seen a kid toss and turn as much as she does. I think I'm going with the weekender 2. One of the popup mattress can be slid underneath for the kids and put on top for extra padding when it's just 2 of us. I hope to start building in a few weeks.

I used bunks for my two oldest kids. The third sleeps with me in the bed.
