I can identify with that reason. I saw these here for the first time by a
female builder back before I joined and wanted to do a covered wagon
inspired camper. Even thought about doing a pvc and canvas covered wagon look on a small boat for anchored in a cove camping.:) Thanks
for the response.

Take a look at this build by Steve Cox: http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=26296

He does incredible work and has detailed this build so that we can all benefit from his ideas and craftsmanship.

Actually only the first roof spar was 6 layers of 1/4" plywood, and it is hidden inside the back wall. After that I built a jig to match the first spar and made them out of 4 layers of pine ripped from a clear 2 X 4. Hope that helps. The bows could have been all the way 'round like a bow top. Also a great way to cover a bow top wagon is to use a commercial spandex that is used in theatrical set building then coat it with epoxy and paint. I tried a test piece of canvas with epoxy and it stretched when wetted out with the epoxy and then set up with sags in it. The spandex came out looking really good. Just another idea to pass on. Have fun with the planning.

What became of the Vardo?

Postby SuperTroll » Tue Jun 16, 2009 4:14 pm

An Update...what do new owners do to the Tears and other trailers they buy that takes someone elses vision and make it one uniquely their own...? See what the buyer of the Vardo has done so far...

Nice update

How fortunate to find someone to take over the dream. I bookmarked the blog for future updates.

Well, you'll see another one of these posted here pretty quick... picking up lumber today to build ours.

Will get at least the bottom box and ledges done this weekend.

One of the best reasons to build a Vardo is that they attract belly dancers :D
