Design & Construction of anything that's not a teardrop e.g. Grasshoppers or Sunspots

Postby ARKPAT » Thu Dec 27, 2007 12:13 am

That is what my larger trailer build has or to be like. I will have to upload the Sketchup file that I have as soon as I have access to the internet with my laptop. I just haven't worked out the details ( important details of connection and storage of panels ).

I have a meeting in the morning at 0630 ( I know military time; forgive me I work 12 hours at night - just a habit ) but after that I might go have breakfast at a WiFi Hot Spot and UpLoad the Sketchup file anyway. Then I can make changes later and reload the file after the changes. ;)

 8)

Pat

PS
That way I will have some new pictures to place in the gallery.
I would load the pictures of the small trailer but I need batteries for the camera to download to the laptop also.

Sorry the post was late. Pop top is below. The side window in the lower part is just to see inside and does not really part of the trailer. It is there to see the interior.

The back picture is with the top lowered ( 48" high lower section ) and the back hatch to be used for an awning when parked. The back door is inset a little and may move to one side to make a bar to set at when the top is raised in bad weather to watch out of the windows in the top section. I'm tring to keep the weight down in the construction because my 4 cylinder truck might have problems with hills ;-) Making it out of composite sandwich wall construction.

Have a look at this thread Gerald_G's trailer for four.

This would give you sleeping for 4 and room for a galley and a fair bit of flexibility on the door size.

I like gerald's design. I am currently playing around with sketchup trying to find the best placement. There are several desighns I might want to try to "borrow ideas from. I like the compact 3 push up roof, But I think want my trailer to slope back for better aerodynamics. I would post a sketch up of what I have, but I have to figure out how first.[/img]
