The benches that make up the dinnette are 12" Tall by 60" Wide by 20" deep. When the table is lowered between them they will make a 72" by 60" sleeping area.

The bench in the front will be 12" Tall by 72" Wide by 30" deep, this one will also double as a sleeping area.

Hey Guys,

I spent the last few weeks painting and sanding.

I put 3 coats of spar varnish on the entire interior of the camper, sanding with 220 grit in between coats.

Front Bench

Center Benches

Kid 2 & Kid 3 testing things out.

Kid 3 relaxing in the rear bunk.

Next I framed up the backrest for the front bench.

Next I glued and screwed a sheet of 3/4" birch ply to the back rest. This board is about 6" taller than the backrest framing. Creating a nice storage cubby.

Next I made brackets for the top bunk/cot. First I cut a 1 1/2" hole using a hole saw.

Next I cut off the corners with a jig saw and then went around the entire board with a router.

Next I bolted in place using two 5/16" bolts and t-nuts.

Heres the poles in the sleeping position.

And in the storage position.

Only have a couple more items to finish of the interior; ac, lights......

That is an aweful long span for those poles to make. I think you are going to get a very lot of sagging under weight. It is a very cool idea but have you tested the poles with like 65 lbs on them?

I got this idea from others on the forum. It looked like they had used standard closet pole dowels. I will test it once I have the canvas sown up.

I can always upgrade to a larger diameter pole if need be.

Those are some fine looking kiddoes you have there! Looks like they are getting anxious to go camping.

The interior of your teardrop looks incredible. I can't imagine how much work it was get it looking that good. I'm in the middle of finishing my doors, drawers, and face frames, and motivational issues. Just thinking about all of the sanding that you did makes my arms and back ache.

My kids are way to cute for their own good (and they know it!). Finishing the the walls and ceiling took FOREVER. My hand had cramped into a claw/brush hybrid by the time I was done. But its over now.

Try to stay motivated, as it appears that half the forum (myself included) is eagerly anticipating your next build update. You don't want to let your fans down.
