I think the finger pulls you mentioned are Military Chest Pulls. I found a few but not the bargains! will look a little more.

http://hardware.knobs4less.com/?style=recessed+pull

this has several shapes of recessed finger (ring) pulls. most all under $10.

i've always had a thing for cabinet hardware. seems a shame to make something wonderful and not finish it off right.

of course budgets count bigtime.

there are other things similar. and the open holes work. i tend to rip them and am better off with 3/4 pine with something like that.

I wish I had seen that site! Those were what I was looking for before I gave up.

On the other hand, on the last two homes I built the buyers didn't want hardware in their kitchen. They preferred a "clean" look. Whatever...all those knobs do add up. Their cost ended up in my pocket.

Those are some REALLY nice pulls on that site you bastard! I hate seeing really cool stuff because it makes me want it sooo bad! I was thinking about the .99 versions like these, simple and elegant:

Image

I like the custom shape cutouts too though John, You were my first inspiration for the AC! I just wonder about the exposed ends on them, are they rounded off and clear coated or what? I clear coated some plywood rounded off with a router and it looks pretty dern cool hmm... Looking at your pic, I relaly like the additional aluminum strips down the middle, very cool!

Robert and E: Yes I can totally relate! It is like a cliffhanger eh! I am ready to get it done and start spending my money on gas road tripping every weekend! I can see me doing trim work while at gatherings! What is an old sloop? Thank you for the insightfulness though! I will check my local army/Navy store just in case and you never know what I might find!

The drawer fronts are less than 1/4" thick. Similar to luan. After cutting them out I sanded the edges with a finger. They do their thing and knid of match the open cabs above. There wasn't enough room between the drawers and the hatch for much. Definitely no knobs.

Thanks for the aluminum strip comp. :)

I am going to give that some serious consideration John!

I love getting stuff in the mail! ! ! Today I got three boxes! My Vintage interior side ambient lights. They are so tiny and cute! All the ones I saw were huge light fixtures, these are my perfect style and use an automotive light bulb. Any suggestions on how to run the wire up to the roof? I was thinking of drilling out and through the wall but that means buying a long drill bit and drilling down into the plywood, not my first choice! My working idea is to just put a small piece of vertical stained trim straight to the roof with the wire underneath. Not perfect, but not completely unsightly either. Somebody might think it is manufactured then tho

Image

I also got my spot lighting. I got them all for $10! ! !I saw people selling one set for $25! I didn't realize that it was for FOUR sets! I thought it was a typo from their other auction. The color is so sweet and rich. I will put one behind my head for reading and one set in the galley to light up the counter. Might put one between the sunroof and roof vent with them pointing at the two hidden electrical cabinets. I do not like LED lights at all.

Image

Speaking of roof vents, I got the roof vent to. I really like this one since it is smoke color and not white. It looks nothing like the pic in the ad, it looks much cooler. It has a unique shape to it which I like alot.

Image

Finally! Now I can install the lights, run the 12v wire, insulate, epoxy the edges and put the roof on! ! !

SLOOP... that's a sailboat with a single mast, a mainsail and a jib. the kind of sailboat you get a great sense of water while riding. i love them best, and the most graceful in the sunset. :)

I saw the finger pull thingies in HD in Olive Branch yesterday. $1.96 for 4. If you can't find them locally, shoot me a PM and I will pick some up and snail mail them to you.

Sweet light you have there. How are you going to run power to it?

Tink, If yuo saw them at your HD then I would guess that they all have then so that is cool, and just my price  I will check it out and let you know if I can't find em!

Sparks, check out my post where I posted the pic, I actually asked that same question. I am going to run a wire straight up to the roof with a piece of trim covering it unless I get another idea between now and then.

I won't get to work on it again for a couple days though :x

Without sandwiched walls I think that will be your only option. I wouldn't try to drill that far through a piece of plywood, chances are you would come through one side or another before you got to where you were aiming for.

Everything is looking good so far, keep up the good work!

They were in two spots in the same aisle. Not with all the cupboard knobs and hinges section. Was near the sliding door (by-pass) hardware. Ask a knowledgeable salesperson.

Would you be able to drill up from under the trailer?

They make drill bit extensions. Keeping the bit between the surfaces of the wall might prove difficult. If you were to get that far an old magnetic stud finder or something similar would find the bit in the wall if the bit might have wandered left or right along the length of the wall.

Of course a dab of silicone would cure the hole under the trailer.

I enjoy your build. :applause: :applause:

edit:

I just realized you haven't closed your roof in yet. I'd drill down from the top and run the wire through the spars.
