You're absolutely right! I've been sick but Mike has been busy! Take a look.

We're building a cargo compartment between the cabin and the galley to store our canopy and other miscellanious stuff. It will have doors on both sides of the tear so you can access it from either side. That will be probably be the next part to go together. I'm looking forward to hearing your feedback...that's one of the best parts of the whole thing!

I would really like to see pics of this cargo dept. I was considering the exact same thing and figured I would be over processing again. Sooooo, when do you think you will have pictures? What size door are you gonna have? Just and idea...... I was going to also, kinda just make it wide enough to put a porta potty in mine, kinda a make shift private bathroom if I was somewhere that there was no public toilets offered... just an idea...

I don't have that kind of room after expanding the plans of the galley a bit and stretching out the sleeping area a tad.

I'm excited for you!

The cargo area is going to be about 18" or 19" wide. We designed the tear to be 5'x11' to accommodate it. We want to make the doors as wide as possible so we're only going to leave about 3/4" on each side. If the space ends up being 18" the door will be about 16.5". I'm also incorporating a battery/electrical compartment into it. I'll get some pictures up as soon as possible. Thanks for the questions!

We got the paneling stained and fitted.

If you'll notice, we cut the oprning for our recessed L.E.D. lights.
I got them off Ebay. They swivel and tilt out so they can be used as reading lights as well. I'm very pleased with the color of the stain. We used a gel stain and it worked very well.

Here are some more pics of different things we got done.

As mentioned earlier, this is a pic of the opening of the cargo area. It's 18" wide and it will have a false bottom for storage of more fragile items like paper towels, bath tissue, etc. I will also store my stoves there. More pics coming soon!

Here I am making a mess while trying to get the carpet up.

Here are the pics of the cargo area. Like I said, there will be a false bottom which is why you see the supports in the later pics

And finally...here is Mike's bright idea to demonstrate how big the area is. You should have seen him getting out.

:o  :applause: Wow! Must be really big. Are you planning to put access to the cargo area from the inside?

No, it will be mainly for canopy, chairs, tables, etc. We might do that at some point however. We were joking last night about being able to sleep kids in there and when we got to thinkig about it we realized that it's a feasible possiblity. Who knows!
