Did some more solidworks drawing today.

Got the galley finished enough to my liking. So big counter top space, and some small drawers down the bottom. That area is only 250mm deep as i want/need leg room for sleeping so cant do much with it. Next to the drawers is a fold out table bit for a cooker or what not, and behind it will be my battery and other 'junk'

I'll use the same size pieces of wood for the inner cabinets. I dont cary many clothes with me etc, so dont need much room in there. Doors are a little higher, and a bit more room but not much. The panel below it will house a stereo and some speakers, as well as all the electronics (bar the battery) and will have a removable face plate to get to all the fuses etc

Hi Ned,
Good start
Those 2700 sheets were a good find, are you going much longer than that or will that give you the length you need? That white oak sounds nice, and will make it feel more open inside. With the 1.5 for the roof, have you concedered ACL (alloy composite laminate)? You can get it in 1.5 wide and various lengths, and can put it directly over the frames, no need for the ply, it is self supporting. It comes in a coloured finish or bare alloy, it bends around the curves easily and holds its shape well.

Thanks. I did look at about 6 different manufacturers for acl type stuff but nobody had 1.5 in anything other than white red black or yellow unfortunately, so going with the standard ply and 0.9mm aluminium.

We got our acl from ullrich. The one we used over the roof is white on one side and mill (bare alloy) on the other.
We used a 1.5 x 4.8 sheet did the full length over the roof and hatch.
Cabinets look good, you should have plenty of storage in the galley and in the cabin.

Ullrich only had silver/white in 1.5 when I talked to them last week, and is $317 + gst a sheet. Cheaper to use aluminium and ply...

I was really keen on the composite stuff, but not at that price, and the silver doesn't look like aluminium at all unfortunately.

Just bought myself some birthday presents from Grant over at Li'l Bear Tag-Alongs!

Hurricane hinge, offset door hinges, molding for the door seals, windows, door and galley latches, drip caps, porch lights and license plate light/bracket.

Not cheap by the time i get it shipped here, and convert to NZ$ though! $1129.98 but still a happy man.

Cheers guys.

Just got back from TWL to buy some trailer parts, and got me a GOOD deal (for a change)
Friend of mine works for the company and managed to swing cost +10% and ended up paying nearly 1/2 the RRP

750kg springs $34.07 a SET
hanger and slip brackets $5.21
Hub and Stub kit (1500kg, in 4x4.5, same as tow car) $70.17

got some strops as well for $3.44 each (small ones, but 250kg ones, good ones)

thats all excluding GST (15%) but the hub and stub kit alone is normally $134 and my total came to less than that
