Thank you so much for the feedback Les. I'll have to digest your information a bit before I can apply it, makes sense though. Much appreciated sir.

Hey Grant, things have been really out of whack around here for the last few months. I'm hoping to visit you soon for the aluminum stuff. May sounds like it could be do-able depending on what happens with the weather.

Thank you guys for keeping the torch lit for my build. It's been a few tough months.

All the best,

Dave

Hi Debbie, Yeah it's been a while for sure, heck we laid the deck in April for crying out loud. We will be camping in her this season for sure. It will be great to finally meet everyone and share in the fun at the Dam Gathering.

All the best,

Dave

:applause:

I can really tell that your a professional designer, the whole trailer is so coordinated and professional looking.

It will definitely not look like a home built camper.

Did I mention I'm really impressed with your design???

You should have your buddy cut some more walls and such and sell them along with plans.

Hi Vwbeamer, Thank you very much for your kind compliments. She is actually the prototype for at least one more Travelear and for completing my plans. With any luck we'll be camping in her this spring and then making any revisions that need to be done to the design. I would like to offer plans and maybe a kit at some point, we'll see if it works out.

All the best,

Dave

Hi guys, with the cold weather it's been slow going on the TD. I've got the wiring underway and hope to get into the shop for some hatch building soon. I'll post some pics next time there's real headway.

All the best,

Dave

I'm back on the hunt in the garage/shop! Our weather has been all over the map from snow to 65 degrees. There have been a couple of good productive days this last weekend. I've run the wiring in the walls and ceiling. Sorry about the dark images.

I've cut all the wiring into grooves in the first layer of insulation, installed the wall insulation and fit all the remaining insulation on top.

I then made a template for the icebox out of cardboard including drawer face.

Image
Here's what it will look like with the drawer closed.

This is how the inside will look.

The voids on both sides will be filled with insulation.

Since we will be working on the metal work I thought I better get on the fenders. So I made the template for that too. I made it the same on both sides to test fit. They will be built with the inside as just an attachment band.

Here's the fender pattern on my kitchen table.

Here's how it looks clamped in place (approximate that is) on the driver's side.

Just for kicks I clamped it on the passenger's side too.

So much for the last week, more to come soon.

Cheers,

Dave
