Making progress with kitchen, dry fit. Will do furnace and fridge vent openings prior to fixing this cabinet permanently in place.

Hi Oleg, sorry for the delay.

As far as my LP set up goes, it's actually about as standard as you can get. Most all manufactured RV's have a similar set up and I think it's the best for all around safety, reliability and durability. From the propane tank, I have a standard flexible hose with a regulator. That goes to a black steel pipe under the coach that runs 3/4 of the length of the coach. From there, there is a brass coupler that joins the black pipe to the copper which comes up through the floor. I have the header I built to distribute the LP to the four appliances with shut off valves for each. On most manufactured RV's they usually just "T" at the appliance and run on to the next appliance, with another "T" and so on. Brass should always be used to join the black pipe to the copper. I chose this route for the same reason that most RV manufacturers do... The black pipe can run the length of the coach underneath with nary a fear of anything damaging it. Copper is soft and wears easily. Not something I would want to have to worry about.

You can actualy buy coper here with a hose already fitted for hot water use

Thanks guys. No, I did not build cabinets before, just an "amateur with some youtube experience" . I do have some good table saw and router and built some jigs though. Flame king cooktop, it looks as in pictures and will do fine in the camper. Finish is good, I just do not understand why the crome top edge has curved openings on the sides and back.. I was also a little bit caught off guard with its hookup in the back, was not expecting that. It will require some creative shielding to propect the copper gas feed line from being heated off refrigerator heater under it. I was expecting that the line could be ran from side as well, as it is in atwood stove. I guess the manufacturer logic was that if someone connects in with a rubber hose, the heat from cooktop is not going to affect it.. kind of foolproof idea, but at the cost of installation options. Will work around it.

It's funny, I've started this build as an experiment for a prototype lifting roof and then test it in various conditions, but then I drifted from testing structural properties finding myself working on interior detail. I guess it shows I have a lot of confidence (or wishful thinking) that this concept will actually work in the real travel camping world..

Today's progress update:


Fridge and furnace vent openings in the side wall are cut and kitchen cabinet with partial back bed and one panel of front dinette is now permanently in place.
Epoxy is setting up, garage heater is on.



And this detail shows a rounded corner that dinette seating will have, someone's toes in the future might thank that round corner.

Sorry, not chrome, but stainless steel top. It has cutouts on the sides and back, must be for ventilation so lower enclosure does not get too hot, I think, see the picture I did below.


My tent trailer cooktop did not have those.
