I have a question. Has anyone here installed a nose wheel onto the Kit? Im thinking if I should install one. If any of you have could you kindly show a pic of it and how its been installed?

Heikki...that little stub that is left on Gages was for a caster. It didn't raise or lower, and the original casters were made of steel, at least mine was. You just pinned it on for moving the trailer. Doug

Well finally we got the 1st Kit frame back. It sure looks sweet now compared to the ol rust bucket it was.

Waiting for the new tires to be set onto the original rims it came with.

I,ll get some photos for you in a bit but need to wait till it stops raining. Meanwhile weve built the sandwiched floor for it instead of just plain ply. ;)

Here,s the way we built it with stainless on the bottom outer core.

Here,s a couple of quick pics for you. These photos dont do this justice because its raining and its really dark at this time of year. Its much nicer looking than what these pics show. I,ll get some better shots in day light.

The frame was bead blasted galvanized and powdercoated in our small southern neighboring country of Estonia. Why you may wonder?. Reason. Its 3/4,s less the price there as it would of cost here. The work is also the same quality there as it would of been in our country.

Also these heavy chains will still need to come off since we dont use them here but instead a safety wire. ;)

We took the spare tire holder frame off due to it causing too much weight.

New tires will be on next week.

Notice our style of coupling on the towbar. :)

I have a question. How can I insulate this Kit with minimal space loss?
I see when I tore it down the ribs crosswise were open in the ceiling front to back cabinets..

Foam sheets come in 1/2" thickness. By removing the plastic film from one side it becomes flexible.

Well Heikki, I used 3/4" foam on the roof. Didn't worry about the sides. But then again the weather here is a little different than there.

Heikki....think about your camping conditions. Is it going to be used for winter camping? With a body or 2 in it overnight, it will be fine...it's the getting outdoors temps. in the morning that is going to be your problem....get a fire going right away! If it isn't planned to do the really cold camping...just do up the ceiling like Gage mentioned (I'd do that anyway) and go for the solid walls like it was originally constructed.

With decent bedding I've camped down to the lower 20's F with ply construction walls no heat and been fine. If you want lower than that...I'd plan on going with some wall insulation, which will involve either cutting down on the inside space, or cutting into the clearance on the tires, your choice. It kinda comes down to how much room you have to work with side to side and how low do you want to go. Just my opinion.

PS...dogs are great heaters! Doug
