Are they sitting in cut outs to stop sideways movement? So you would be likely to have water come through there?

I just had a look at their PDF, I see they are made for vertical use so those grey bits will be what stop them sliding apart. They talk about the issues of getting grit in the gears if they are cut and that if they are cut that the cut end should be at the bottom so that any of the filings would fall out away from the gears. They also mention issues with paint in the gears. It makes me wonder about the stability of them for the hatch, with road dust getting in go the gears.

They are like rebates but there is a small cut out at the top of them.
I didnt realise the extent of the holes until i got home but im thinking of a way to get around them.
Worst comes to worst i could cover it with rubber and a couple of strips holding it down similar to what kcs doing but id prefer not to.
Installing the hatch spar ceiling and some wiring today i hope

I didnt realy think of tbe road dust issue but on shop front doors ect youd assume they would collect a fair bit of crap.
Im thinking i might be adle to make some sort of covers to go over the ends... not sure.
Before i cut it ill investigate further

Got a good deal done today and mostly the dreaded 12v electrical, not my forte at all.
Fixed up my oversite of not wiring the fan up after routing it out and also added 3 small cabinett lights in my internal shelves including mounting and wiring the switch for them, interior light, porch lights and internal switch, car audio...
Vacumed it all out and other than mounting the 2 front reading lights and headboard and tv the interiors finished.
I also mounted my FConector through wall conecter socket for the tv Ariel.
So next day at it ill fit the ceiling over the cupboard after tripple checking everything then hatch spar, foam and roof ply + the last of the roof PMF.
Some of these smaller jobs take forever.
I didnt pack up until 5.30 and started at 9

So where's your pictures my friend? ;)
Keep up the good work. I'm jealous of your progress. Mine is sitting in storage for at least another month.

Hi Dale, I see you were asking Tim about the latch for your hatch. GoughTWL have that sort of thing. Have a look at their body hardware catalogue.http://goughtwl.co.nz/catalogue/body-hardware look on page E28. You have Gough Transport Solutions in Australia, and the head office is in Melbourne. I would think they should have all the same stuff in Aus that we have here. It was GoughTWL in NZ that I got the door stops from for my side doors and for Tim.Vitoria (Head Office):9/450 Princes Hwy, Noble Park 3174

Unfortunately I didn't find that latch until after I had made my own, using a garage door handle, with a piece of stainless plate for a "T" inside the hatch, some spring loaded door catches and some s/s fishing trace to pull on the catches. One day I may get one of theirs and replace it.
It has a square hole in the centre, that goes through, so that you can have the latch on the inside and the handle through from the outside. Next time you are around that side of Melbourne, I would suggest you call and see them. If you scroll up, they have a variety of handles, and if you scroll down, you will see the door stops.

Ive also picked up a job to build a verry basic box camper for a customer who wants to use it for hunting.
Its going to be 8x4 on a premade new trailer and my mates welding up the frame.
Im cladding it in composite pannel and fitting a tear drop door to the rear and two sliding windows, one each side.
Probably went in too cheap but hes finnishing it off. Im just making it water proof and useable
