any new progress to report. Looks like you have come a long way. I just cut my Trolley top but I should have measured twice (I have some fixing to do).

It not only looks like a teardrop but a sculpture as well

Well it's been a while since i posted any updates on here. Haven't really done much in the last few months. When the weather started to ged bad we decided to stick humphrey into a shipping container to hibernate for the winter. But our first big camping weekend of the year is in 4 weeks time so time to get this thing at least road leagle in time.
So we dragged him out of his winter cocoon last week and i started working again yesterday.

Here's how Humphrey is looking now....

Humphrey is very cute. :applause: :applause: :applause: I like the VW vents. I hope you get your galley done in time! Certainly appears camp-able as it stands though.

Cheers Guys.
Got some more work done.

Painted the galley...all the doors off to make it easier.

Image

fitted some cheap carpet.

Image

And started the edge trim but not sure if i like it or not.

Image

Image

the main job that needs doing is the wheel arches and road lights. Once they are done it will be able to be towed and camped in :applause:

I'm only building the trailer i have no say over the brightness. there is still more paint waiting to go one so it's only going to get brighter :frightened:

Today i finally started on the job i have being putting off the most. Because of the door position, off the shelf arches just wouldn't work so i have to make my own.

So i glued up lots of polystyrene and started my own private snow storm.

Image

Lots of sketching went on to find the right shape

Image

Image

Image

The hardest part is getting the second one to match the first one

Hoping to start fibreglassing tomorrow.

Hi 3Nero,

Great work on the fenders. What diameter are your wheels?

Cheers Larry. The wheels are 14 inch. We got 4 of them when we bought the chassis. The other 2 are holding the hitch up at the moment.

Still sanding and shaping the fenders so not much to look at, but i did get some other bits done.
We wanted some weird door knobs for all the doors and drawers in the galley and so far the searches came up blank.
Well the other day while having yet another cup of tea I stoped to take notice of my usual snack.

Can't beat a custard cream dipped in your tea.

So i sacrificed one of those biscuits to the teardrop gods...

Image

I made a mould of it and ended up with this...

Image

Image

Then i painted them all up

Image

Image

So now i have the weird knobs i need to finish off the galley :FNP

Now if any of us come there to see your trailer, what they really need to know is what drawer will you keep those cookies in?? :rofl2:

Very smart idea on the cookies. Others may follow. out here it seems to be the Oreo cookie. 8) Image

Have you taken it out camping yet and if so what did people think. Do you think everyone will start making them too?

and a lot of the folks here are into waffles and cast iron. you could start a trend.

 I never taught about Oreos, We have them here but they will never overtake the custard cream. :R

No camping yet, the first camping day of the season is may 2nd, we will be heading to a camping van festival, 3 days in a field with a few thousand vans and 5 music stages, plus lots of beer and campfires. It's called Vantasival. We are pushing it to get it there. 8)

In the last few days all i have being doing is glassing and sanding and then more glassing followed by some sanding....All that work and i've only got one arch almost ready.

Image

It is actually purple but my camera makes it look blue. Just have to wait for the last coat to dry and then i can cut it free from the plug and insert some brackets on the inside for strength. the worst thing is i still have to make the second one

In other news.... I made a start getting her toy car ready for towing.

Image

It's non-stop here :?
