Great job so far! I hear ya about the heat been in the 100's here lately not good motivation for working on a teardrop. Some of my best idea's (or is that worst idea's ) come from not being able to be out there working on my projects, but wishing i could be. Keep up the good work.

Hey Cliff, no Im gona shave it off I was just so happy about it I had to take a picture as soon as it was on. As for the finish Im gona epoxy seal, then a couple coats of STIX primer. Its a waterborn urethane, and its sands great. Then I got this trick stuff From Ben Moore called Waterborn Urethane gloss finish. It also has a clear that I am going to use. Its just experimental for me I like to try new coatings. Its my business. I did some testing of this system and some phone calls to the paint gods and it should be very durable and flexible. We shall see.

Cool Kirk, I'm planning on doing mine like yours on the roof then going to route the edge and take the edge to a more rounded edge then epoxy it. Was thinking woody but the other half wants it red so will probably use TSC tractor enamel. It finishes to a very hard finish.

Thanks Larry, If you or anybody tries the decoupage thing you must soak your pic first in water. This lets the pic expand in the soaking tray and not on the wall. After its dry just paint on a few more coats of varnish. Its just like having custom wallpaper.

Shave it off with the router..Where would we be without laminate cutting bits..makes everything easy.

Your teardrop is turning out fabulous. The galley design and decopage bulkhead are really nice!

I interested in the paint you plan on using. Keep us posted on the results.

Tom, you are very kind but we both know that my galley is a 1 and yours is a 10. I am trying to get this thing campable this year. My plan is to add storage options later. Anyway I will let you know about the paint. If you wanted to check it out at your local Ben Moore dealer here are the #s. The paint is P73-1B, the clear is P73-00. I would imagine the prices to range $75-$95 gal. Not too bad for what you get.

The paint is not a common product for retail paint stores, but any Ben Moore dealer can order it for you and have in a couple of days.

Danny - I am going to use system 3 Sculp wood epoxy paste. I like it because it gets hard fast and I am impatient. Any epoxy filler would do just fine. Restore - it makes a good one but its slower to get hard.

Can somebody tell me if there is a standard gap between the door and frame if you are using Grants trim for the frame and t mould for the door?

i've been wondering this myself, as i'm nearing that step...

do you have a pic of the inside above the door where you ran wiring to the outside lights? i'm considering putting some porch lights on mine but since the walls are just ply haven't decided yet how to disguise the wire... (meaning aesthetically the lights seem like they should be a few inches lower than where wiring will be run thru the roof... if that makes any sense...)
