Skin is kinda on... It is tough working all day and then squeezing in as much as I can before the sun sets. It gets pitch back outside where I am and lights can only do so much. Was up until 10pm last night getting this much done. Beavers Bend is in three days. That gives me two. I welded the frame of the door today as the sun was setting. I am worried about the side panels flying off when I drive because I don't have much trim on yet and the trim is what holds the sides on besides 3-4 well placed screws...
I got my window in today, so I can finish framing out and skinning the door tonight. I already have the plastic hinge and I can use some Home depot angle aluminmum around the edges in case the t molding doesn't come in tomorrow. Need to silicome every joint as well, it is got gaps you can see through! I will do my best to PASS on the duct tape LOL
OK I am looking for a post that doesn't include duct tape! HAHA
Actually looks like some severe weather including tornadoes is on the agenda Thursday night through Friday night. Saturday should be nice, your typical beaver's bend!
Oh and I finished the door last night! Hoping the T-molding comes in today so I can add that. then I will silicone the heck out of it around all the seams and brng the easy up to park under just in case. (Note to self, bring stakes!)..
Ok scrap the duct tape, use Barrabond tape instead, with severe weather comming NASCAR prooves its good to 190 miles and hour Lookin good, have a fun weekend, nothin like a mid build camp out
Ever heard of a two-fer? This photo is a four-fer! I buttoned up the lower front, installed the door handle, roof vent and painted the AC black and got it installed. I am CAMPABLE! Just a couple of knick knack things left to do like attaching the chains to the tongue and running a bit of silicone where I see gaps, but I am finally no longer camperless!
Yeah, my idea was to get it done before August when it is the hottest! The next gathering is late Sept! Now it is on to other things like ceiling fans and putting down gravel! Just want to get this ready to go, I am tired of deadlines!
Here is the interior with the AC, power strip and bed installed. I used the highly technical installation process of cutting a hole in the floor and letting the cord dangle haha... It will work great!
Oh update on the sticky tar roll on the undercarriage... Apparantly when it is THIS hot, it doesn't want to stick and it is hanging down in many places. I am going to need to go in with a staple gun and hit all of it... that will be today and also getting rid of the goo left over from the duct tape around the door!
Here's a pic of the Teardrop as it is now, and a pic of the interior. It is just about done! The bedding is temporary, I pulled it out of the Prowler and disinfected it and it is good to go until I can get a permanent one. It does lay down flat, I just have to force it a little.
