Building of Lil Swan - Page 9-Built Frame Appears 12.3.2010

Postby Classic Finn » Sun Jan 24, 2010 6:05 pm

I reckon I,ll reveal part of our doings. 1st off we have finally Registered & Licensed our Legal Brand Name here as - "Lil Swan." This took some beuracratic legal work but not bad. Still missing the Caravan or Camper or whatever we should use with this to make the name complete.
Majority on paper yet. However it will become reality. Wife does want our present tear done 1st though. But so far I live in the warmth of the house.

Here are some profiles that will be used. This evolved from my friends original profile for a motorcycle tear however he doesnt want to make a full automobile tear using this. So this will now become usable by us with a full size tear build.

Below a profile for 4.5 x 8 & 4.5 x 10

Profile and Wood Parts will be cut by- http://www.laserle.fi/english_index.htm

Outer shell will be stainless steel.

Windows will be from France - http://www.boidron.com

Tires and Wheels - http://www.specialfalgar.fi/

Fenders (Finnish Design and Make) The ones you see here: Ours will be designed by the same company.

Looks nice. I am assuming you will be using your friends shop that you have shown pictures of before? You should be able to mass produce several parts at the same time. This should reduce cost and speed up production. Good luck.

Ive spoken with them again yes. However there is a slight possiblity we will be moving to Eastern Finland. There we also have a place in sight to start this and the rent is much cheaper. Also there is a possiblity to receive EU Grants for starting up a new business there. Not only for this type of business but other fields as well due to higher unemployment in that region. However the nice thing is that there are beautiful lakes, camping places there. Tourism is number 1 in that region as well.

Sounds like a plan Heikki. Do you have friends in the area that you are thinking of moving to and are others going to be involved with this project? Maybe I missed it in other threads...but did you cook up your logo yet? Doug

Hello Doug. Yes I know a few people there via my wife. Also one of them is an exceptional welder and metal man who will gladly join up with me.
In the beginning it will be myself and my German friend with welding capabilities.

In the beginning it will be and (must be) an evening job as well as weekends, however in hopes of finding fulltime work in travel wether it be Hotels, Motels or even Camping grounds with cabin rental and such or local sightseeing ships.

As far as a logo, we do have one. Approved one at that by new business officials. They think it fits like a glove to our area. We love it also.

Our Official Bird in Finland and Symbol is the Swan so it does fit the name (At least we think so) ;) :)

Hello Philip, Now that you mention it why yes Ive got a very nice 1st set of decals for the Very 1st Lil Swan which will look mighty fine. :) :shake hands:

Originally designed together with & by a member from this board (Dean A) some time ago. Never really believing it would have carried my thoughts and dreams this far but here it is.

I dont know what the future holds with all of this but am certainly going to give it our best.

Thank You. I,ll fill you folks in with details and photos. In the next few months there will be somthing very nice going on that will blow your socks off. :D
