I bet Ya'll thought I was gone for good. But it aint so. Today after work I'm on my way to HF to get a trailer. I have my 20% coupon I got off the internet and the trailer is on sale  . I need to get it together this week and use it to take a motorcycle to San Antonio in a couple of weeks first. Then I'm going to widen it to 5" and start building the tear on it. I am a happy man. :D Watch for the pics the will be coming soon. Did I mention that I'm a happy man? :D

The trailer

Postby FlyerSkip » Tue Apr 13, 2010 5:55 pm

Here's the trailer fresh from HF. Grand total of $287.99. Not looking like much but in a day or two it will.Image

It's a great feeling isn't it? Like a baby being born.... I bet it will be the topic you talk most about for a long long time.

Most of my repeat customers are now asking "How is the trailer coming along?".

Good for you!

The trailer frame is done.

Postby FlyerSkip » Sat Apr 17, 2010 6:45 pm

I layed out the parts for the frame Image only to find that I had two right rails and no left. So, back to HF for the left rail. I joined the front and rear halves of the frame together by using the center cross member for a brace inside the rails Image. As you can see I left the axel under the springs. I did this because I want to build the cabin 5" wide and leave the trailer at 4". This way there is no fender to knock off. And the trailer sits level with the truck.Image I think this will also reduce or eleminate the wheel wells inside. I mounted the cutout out of the cabin I made a year ago to see what it would look like and it looks good to me. Image. Retta is thinking she might want something with a window high on the front so we may end up with something like a short Squar Teardrop. We'll see when we get there. Next on to the floor. Image

My dad just called. He wants me to build him a tear too. So now I'm going after another trailer and will do them together. How cool is that? 8)
