Tremclad Paint

Postby CampsALot » Tue May 21, 2013 7:16 am

Has anyone used Tremclad over the TB2 and foam?
(I have some already)

Did it work OK or will I have a big blob of melted chemicals?

Inquiring minds...

Hi! I have read the whole Foamie section and I don't remember anyone trying it, and since you have some, you might want to take some pictures of your experiment. I don't know if you have read the Big Thrifty thread but that s where this foamie thing started. I know it is a bit long and in depth but you will get a sense of the experiments that have been done and how and How this whole thing started. Some of the lag time was because of the time the experiments took. I call this foamie building new and developing technology. Your experiment is important to us so please try the paint on a small piece of foam. We are interested. Thanks. But in all this don't forget a sense of humor, your dogs cats and all the other little things that make experimentation so much fun.

The short answer: I don't remember but I have CRS HE HE!
Have you tried it Yet????

OK, that’s Rustoleum for us ... and no I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anybody using over foam either ... not that it might work , and like everything else , be tested on a bit of scrap first ... ;)

Just a little scrap piece of foam should prove or disprove whether or not it works. Post your results so we can share the knowledge

I have been wondering this myself. If nobody else does it, I'll try it this weekend and let ya know how it works.

Just a WAG... if Rustoleum/Tremclad is an Enamel , then no problems eh ... we’ve used enamels over bare foam before on RC planes .... Schmaybe’ .... A simple test will confirm ...

Wow that was fast! I did a similar test today but I soaked a piece of foam in rustoleum all afternoon. No problem
