I like the bed legs. Where does the extra bed board store when in bench mode? Does it slide under the seat or fold up?

Looking forward to your trip pictures!

Am curious about that as well. Also, where would you store the removable table?

From what I see, that is some first class workmanship. You have something to be very proud of. AWESOME

Thanks to all for the kind words.
There is still plenty of work to do, and I'm not happy with the doors but it's now 'used' with a very successful trip under it's belt.

I posted the first trip pictures and story under the trips section here: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=56912

Teaser...

KC, Kudzu, the board for the bed is a plywood panel that slides under the mattress while in couch mode.
If it were hinged, you would have to lift the mattress as you flipped it out.

Well that was a pretty good test of the Sequoia. Seems like everything, trailer wise, went well. Even with wind, rail, hail, bugs & skunks the "better half" still wants to go again. Sounds like a successful maiden voyage. Excellent!

Starting the "graphics"

I was going to use GPW's method but this way, I only have to do the 'edges' once.
If I mess it up, it's nothing a roller and some paint cant fix. :)

I thought I'd try some screen printing.
My junior high shop class did this oh so many years ago...

The first attempt.
Print what you want to reproduce.
Put a piece of $3 curtain sheer in an embroidery hoop.
lay it over the printed image and trace the design with a pencil.
Paint the around the design with glue and let dry
Hold the hoop in the desired spot and paint over the design.
Carefully pull hoop away.

Because of the surface texture, it has kind of a rubber stamp look, this could be easily fixed but I kind of like it.
Not bad for a first attempt.

Now for the big tree...
Sequoia of course.
The rest of the screen will be taped off.

Now, while that glue dries, were going camping for a couple of days. 8)

Cheers

Oh, good idea. Already have the hoop.

Love the look. Nice "L". (say a girl with the initials LL)

Can't wait to see that...

... but guess I'll have to wait. Y'all have fun camping. It's what all that work was for, after all. Time to reap the rewards.

Hey Warren, you ought to hit up Gayle for some Glen-L swag since you're advertising for them !
That looks really good. I'm not sure why but I've never tried screen printing - you make it look so easy I'm gonna give it a whirl.

I can't believe! Since 2007 when we ordered the plans, I have been asking in forums across the internet if anyone had ever built this trailer and never found a living soul. And, having the build here, maybe that will motivate my husband. It is so funny because this week I was telling my husband that we needed to build the Sequoia because the pop-up (2100 lbs empty) is too much of a hassle and the personal property taxes came in this week. So, thank you, thank you, thank you! Oh, and beautiful job!
