Found a place in town that sells 2" pink foam ($38 / sheet :? ) I'm going with that for the wall for sure. I'm still not sure whether to try and use 2 layers of 3/4" for the roof (with spars) or not. I'm almost thinking I could put one layer up at a time and dispense with most of the kerfing necessary. This would be for a standard Benroy profile.

Alternatively, just go with 2" for the whole thing and be done with it. I'm betting I could eliminate the need for spars except for the hinge area that way, but kerfing for that 20" radius up front is going to be a pain. Any thoughts? I'm trading out the foam tomorrow and cutting on Sunday.

I kerfed two 1" panels and put them face to face to make up a curved 2" panel. I will not lie... It's a major PITA but I like how it turned out

IF you’re using the 1” sheets or 3/4” sheets , you can easily heat bend the profile .. Hot water , heat guns (gently used) , just something to soften the foam ... 190F is ideal because the foam bends so easy and once cooled , retains that shape ... forever... :o

I decided to just go with 2" foam for everything. The 3/4" stuff at lowes was tongue and groove, and while I'm planning on rounding out the edges of the roof panels, it just seemed to be more of a pain to deal with laminating two layers. Not that kerfing 2" foam is going to be a joy, but it just seems simplier to my reptile brain. Taking a break from laying out the panels now as a matter of fact, and should be cutting them out later today.

Change of plans  Cut the panels out and monkeyed around with kerfing the 2" scrap. That's going to be a nightmare. Switching back to using 2 layers of 3/4", and will try and use a heat gun instead of kerfing. I'll be putting on some spars, as I'm going to need some hard points for attaching hangers and whatnot anyway.

My trailer is about 75 miles away from here, and I'm not exactly sure the distance from the front to the fenders, so I'll pre-canvas (1 coat Gripper to glue on canvas, then another to fill in the weave a bit, then cut out the doors once I get a proper measurement. I think it's about 42" from the front of the trailer to the fender, and that doesn't give me much room for a 30" door, so I'll likely glue some 1/4 laun around the interior of the proposed door area before canvassing. I'm only going to have about 6" of foam near from the top corner of the door to the front radious'd part of the trailer, and that's not giving me a warm fuzzy.

I'm way overthinking this 8)

I tried using the heat gun method but all I got was melted foam. But then again, I'm not real patient! :R
