Ran across this while looking at teardrop campers. This is SO cool!

The frame will be the hard part. The other thing to think about is the forces that will be acting on the roof of the tow vehicle.

I laughed pretty good . Now I wonder if it could work on my HHR. But to answer your question, with time and patience anything can be built.

I've wondered about that too. Seen this video a few times. Wish I was brave enough talented enough and mostly patient enough to try it myself.

Oh, at first I thought you meant the cheesy 70's outfits and haircut. I wouldn't attempt those either.

I have thought about a fifth wheel Foamie but I think it's like Bogo said the frame would be the hard part. Don't have a vdub nor am I planning on getting one but I do have a truck. The other issue is the massive hitch for a fifth wheel. I'd want something much lighter Good food for thought

Could do a goose neck hitch. Everything mounts under the bed, just the ball sticks up.

Goosenecks are what we use on the farm. I can't understand that raised semi like hitch the RV industry seams to like. It just seams to fill up the pickup bed, and cost an arm and a leg more than it should. A good flip over ball type gooseneck hitch installed is only $500 to $700 and will handle a 20,000 to 35,000 pound trailer depending on the ball and hitch.
