Foamhenge is about 60 miles north of where I live now. The artist, Mark Cline, graduated from the same high school as my son and I think it was in the same year of 1986. I go by it about once every 2 weeks.

As much of a free spirt that I believe Mark is, I will bet he would love to have a camp fest there.

When I saw the title of this thread, my first thought was of that great scene in "This is Spinal Tap". :R

As I drove by FoamHenge today on my want to a doctor's appointment, I had planned on taking a picture of it to share here. But the trees blocked the view from the road and a gate was closed. I have seen people climbing the fence/gate, but I am one who respects the inference that the owner does not want people trespassing. But I will contact him, explain what I want to do and see if I can get a group of photos.

Just for the heck of it.

A Foamling gathering would be very cool!!! I would have to take a LLLLLOONNNNGGGG vacation to make it back to Virginia from the west coast. HMMMM maybe not the best location but still a good concept..

Foamhenge might be a huge disappointment to anyone driving long distances. To me, it has to be considered a "what the heck" side trip for anyone that just happens to be in the area. I live here and have never stropped to get close to it. But isn't that true of many places though? If you live close, you tend to go somewhere else to visit.

But this part of Virginia has a lot to offer in regards to other sights, events, places to visit and such.

Can't be any worse than the Corn Palace. Been there, done that. Didn't bother with the T-shirt.

My daughter and a friend made a small FoamHenge for school back in the 80's. Unfortunately it no longer exists. Stones were about 2 inches high, glued to a board.
