GPW, any chance a friend has a portable garage type canopy set up? or can you rent one? that would give you a covering you could work under even in the rain.

Not that you want to buy one, but HD sells them for about $200.

SJ, had I only known how rainy it would be this year , would have probably done that ... But too late now ...

Brown truck just dropped off the windows and hinges ... Yippee!!! They are small but very nice , and have Al trim rings ... not plastic ... All came very well packaged and no signs of any damage ... Thanks to Frank the Bear ... 8) :dancing

Bogo .... Likely so , along with everything else ... :frightened:

Placed the window on the door to see what it’s going to look like ... Looks Good to me ... just the right size ...

Now these are the same size windows for the sides , and might appear to some to be quite small for that purpose , but since the FS is all about comfort and PRIVACY , I’m sure they’ll be OK... that and they’ve already been approved by “you know who” ....

Installing the windows in the sides means I have to have the inside wall finished first in that area ...so , I called a friend at the local Art supply store and got a price on some 1/32” thick chipboard ... 32” X40” @ 1.50 USD a sheet .... That’s pretty reasonable and should work perfectly ... likely , at that price , we’ll get enough to do the whole inside that way , providing a nice uniform surface to the foam , and a good base for even further “decoration” ... 8)
Everything’s quickly coming together now ... :D

I believe what you want is on pages 17-18 of my album ... look at it and see if that helps ... ? If not maybe we can think of something else for you ... while it’s raining .... :rainy:

On the shop side of things, I'm designing my hard sided pop up so I can make and finish a bunch of SIP panels and other parts. Then go outside and glue/screw/bolt them together over a few day marathon. That way I can make the parts in the basement shop over winter, and assemble it in the spring in the barn. After the glue/screw/bolt phase the only things left to do should be string some wires, install a couple gaskets, install the bed, charge the batteries, fill the water and propane tanks, load up the gear and use. Of course I'll be real lucky if I get it that well organized.

Had to run to the Doctor’s this AM (annual ) ... so lost a good bit of the cool hours of the morning for trailer work ... guess we’ll start fitting the window to the door , so we can get that all covered and out of the way , without having to work outside ... Once we get the door window fit , am going to make a cardboard template to cut out the other two holes in the cabin walls ... much quicker and easier that way ... despite having to make the template .. which BTW may be useful later on should we decide to add more windows in the future ... :o

Just in case somebody doesn’t know how to make a quickee’ window template .... just press the window down firmly into a piece of cardboard ... it leaves a nice mark of where the window edge is and can be easily traced around and cut out ... as will be seen in the following pics ...
