Seriously , you don’t need much of a sail to get some movement , and with the lightness of a foamie boat , even a small sail (or umbrella) should work !
Years ago , a friend had a tiny foamie sailboat , a “toy” to Real sailors, big enough for two , small enough to stuff in the back of the old Country Squire... outside had a thin plastic skin , inside was just foam ... Fun craft , easy to set up and take down ... We used it for years , held up great !!! no problems ... Wish I had one now !!! Seeing Rosey’s boat brought back all of that ... Foam boats do work very well ... and there’s No chance of sinking ...
Now as to the Fishing ... around here we have a lot of shallow marshes, connected by a labyrinth of canals and bayous .. easy to access with a light boat (no launch fees) ... you don’t have to go far to find Fish , they’re Everywhere... Foamie boat or other small Light craft (canoe, kayak) allows you to sneak into the shallows where the Big Ones are...
Just thinking , with a small sail , there wouldn’t even be any paddling noise to scare them away (Stealth) ... We do take Fishing very seriously here.... It's FOOD !!!!! ... and we take Food Very Seriously here too ... It’s nothing to eat a big Seafood Platter, then stuff down a Hubig’s pie afterward, all washed down with a Barqs Root Beer... Culinary Nirvana !!!
But like the recipe says ...
First you get the Fish !!!! ... which in reality means first you get the boat ... or just fish off the bank ... not as much Fun or as productive ...
