The actual launching of the boat is scheduled for next Saturday afternoon!! Finally got a Saturday off! If anyone wants to join me :) I'll be at Bayou St John near S. Jeff Davis and Moss maybe around 3 PM.

I hope you can make it Glen. It'll be nice to see you!

on a side note: The vinyl spackling did not work under the latex lagging in this climate (I knew I was moving to a swamp when I came down here but had not realized how humid swamps actually are, lol). The spackling was falling apart under the lagging and making it bubble. I had to scrape the lagging off everywhere I had the spackling and scrape, sand, wash all the spackling off and recoat those spots with lagging. The lagging did not come off at all (even while cleaning up the other mess) the places where it was over the canvas only. Maybe an exterior spackling would work better. I just left it a little less smooth. It's a fishing boat, it doesnt have to be perfect :).

Rosey, considering where you are is probably below seal level , you can see/feel why it’s always so HUMID !! :frightened: We’re at the bottom of the bowl , so to speak ... but all the Fish are here too ... 8)
Ps. Speckled Trout season is supposed to be BIG this year !!! Yummy !!!! Braised in a lemon/butter sauce with a pinch of fresh parsley and a handful of sliced almonds... chased down with an Abita Amber and a Hubig pie for dessert Whoa, doesn’t get any better than that eh !!!! :D

I’ve got my video camera ready !!! :pictures:

Sounds tastey! And again with the Hibig's pies...No strawberry or cherry when I was there, so I went with lemon. Wife and son each had apple. Now I need something to eat. Come to think of it, a Purple Haze would be good about now.

Got the outside of the boat painted today! Hopefully will be able to do the inside tomorrow. Due to the weather forecast for Saturday the launching will be postponed until Sunday, same time, same place. :)

You're afraid it will get wet?

A vessel launched under adverse conditions will show its true mettle, and will never again give you any doubt as to its abilities. Put on a slicker and launch that sucker, then go back on Sunday and enjoy a perfect, leisurely cruise.

What's the saying? Something like a bad day on a boat is infinitely better than a good day off a boat. Or something like that.

Whenever you launch, can't wait to see the pics.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.
