I have little experiences with them ... What do you guys use and why do you like it ... I’m thinking the Big issue is cleaning ...

Yes I am also interested in a porta potty.

I started another thread for it:

A portapotti doesn't count ?
My wife doesn't want a toilet she has to pull out of a cupboard to use...I guess us guys are a bit spoiled by needing only to find a tree.

NOPE. So far I haven't convinced her that a Porta Potty would work. I keep meaning to convince her that there's got to be some acceptable method but so far I haven't chosen to fight that battle. One of these days. Thanks for starting that other thread, I need an answer for the problem. I have thought about the pop up tents and their "cassette" toilets. Any one use of those?

Haven't posted in a while since it seems that I only have taken care of a lot of little things. A panel here, some wiring there, attach this to that but this weekend I finally got to fiberglassing all the doors. It was a learning experience since I never fiberglassed anything before (except a couple of trial pieces). I learned I liked a roller better than a spreader and the end grain of plywood really sucks up epoxy. There are a couple of areas that didn't turn out the way I wanted but I'll be able to fix the issues. I do like the way they turned out and sometime before the end of next week, I should be able to find enough time to do at least one of the side walls. Here's the biggest issue I have with epoxy. The dry time between coats drives me insane. In my limited work space, I really can't do lots while the epoxy dries for fear of kicking up too much dust. With the temperature in the garage in the mid 70's and my lack of experience, I chose an epoxy that had a fairly long working time. The penalty you pay for that is a long dry time too. I guess I'll add that to the list of things I learned while building the Road Foamie. It's coming to a conclusion pretty soon though and I'm pretty excited to take the Road Foamie on a shake out trip.

If it’s a small consolation , the slower Epoxy dries , the stronger it is ...

You know we’ll expect :pictures: ... ;)

No worries Mel, progress is progress. I'm in the same boat (trailer?) - I keep a list of the little 'non-building' jobs to plug away at so I can keep moving forward when I'm not actually building.

Getting a faster hardener is the ideal option, but if you warm the epoxy and the substrate a bit before you apply it, it will set up quicker. A halogen work light on the surface and keeping the epoxy in a cabinet or box with a bare light bulb will do it.
It will take a bit of playing around to figure out the right temps, but it works well. The resin will go on thinner when it warm and wood will out-gas more when it's warm (bubbles).

Thanks GPW it is a consolation. Since fiberglass and epoxy are both clear the pink foam still looks like pink foam so pics don't really look like much. But I'll post some mid week. So much going on at the moment.

WW, good to know that. I might play around but I really don't want it to kick too soon either. My lack of experience shows in my lack of speed.  Oh well you're right. Progress is progress :) :)

Mel, it's progress. Slower setting time means less stress. My sympathies on the waiting. Don't like that either.

Time spent waiting for glue to dry is best spent on something else ...multiple mini-projects assure you’re always Busy !!! While one part is drying , work on another part or “detail” ... ;)

I wish I had enough room to do that. The Road Foamie takes up one half of the garage, the workbench I set up takes up the other half. With panels lying on top of the workbench, I have just enough room to get around the bench to get to all the parts. There are some small things to do but I am so paranoid about kicking up too much dust I'm making myself nutty I wish I had a dedicated workshop. But you're right the whole reason for getting started down this road was to keep it rot free and last a good long time.

I just wish pink foam didn't create pink dust. When I get done in the garage and walk in the house I leave a trail of pink dust behind me. I have been ordered by "she who must be obeyed" to strip down to my underwear in the laundry room before I am allowed upstairs. That's fine until the day I walk upstairs and don't realize we have guests over!!!  :NC  That would be embarrassing :shhh: :shhh: !!

Your definitely right about that but one of my faults is that I am not good at sitting around doing nothing. I probably have somewhere between 4 and 6 weeks of work left on Road Foamie and then it will be fall camping season (my favorite). After that I'm worried about what I should do to keep myself occupied. Building another one comes to mind but I doubt our family chief financial officer would approve. Maybe a kayak? Maybe a stand up paddleboard? Maybe I'll take up bonsai as a hobby? I'm getting stressed out thinking about it

I'm pretty sure Bonsai would be a bad idea. That's a slow tedious hobby. :) You'll find other fun things to do, I'm sure. Of course, you'll be camping, too. :)

Basket weaving , although much decried , can be quite interesting , doesn’t take up much room , very little mess, and I can imagine a giant woven basket TD .. much like the basket on a hot air balloon , but bigger ... :o  Found an old man that showed me how to make very durable baskets out of split white oak, used green .. when it dried it turned to iron .. well almost .. Keeps the hands busy and is very Utilitarian ...

I did almost forget that I would still be homebrewing. Problem with brewing is that it is a hectic day of brewing followed by weeks of patient fermenting, watching, measuring, transferring, carbonating and waiting before the drinking. Enjoyable but not engaging for a long enough period. Still think bonsai would be cool. There is a cultural and family connection for me. My dad used to do it as a hobby, I've been threatening to do it for a while and have touched on it now and again and it's the one (possible) hobby that I engage in that my son actually shows any interest in. Building things such as a trailer, or kayak or paddle board seems like a waste of time to him and he's too young to be engaging in the production of alcoholic beverages.

Back to the trailer. I glassed one side of the trailer and should be able to get the other side done this weekend. So things are coming along. I promise pics when I have the other side done. I'll have the doors, sides, rear doors done. Then it's a matter of running all the electrical through the ceiling panels and glassing those up too.

I'm getting there. There's a saying about a light, a tunnel and a train.... I hope it isn't a train :o :o

Hey Mel: I have not seen your build for a while. My bad! It looks like you are doing very well on your Foamie. Don't you just love how long it takes to get to where you want to be. I like how things are turning out for you. I think that light you see in the tunnel is getting brighter every day. That means the spotlight will be on your finished project soon...

Looking Good !!!
