That looks terrible. I am glad that we seldom have freezing rain and ice storms here. Did your front wheel wells fill up with crap so you could not turn? I have had that a few times.

FoamStream...

Postby mikeschn » Sun Dec 22, 2013 4:55 pm

That's kinda sorta what it looks like over here today. We've lost power a number of times, and we've been without a connection all day. You can't imagine how strange that feels. No phone, no cable TV and no internet connection. I'm posting this with my cell phone!!!

As I said before we seldom have ice storms here. And that kind of worries me as if we do get a real bad one I wonder just how well our utilities and road departments will handle it. Snow/wind storms we know. Ice we do not.

We had about an 1 1/2 inches of snow at my place yesterday. I got my bicycle out this after noon and road it about a mile. A pretty good work out in coat and pack boots.

Flip it over, place the ballast (beer) in the bottom and start loading 2 x 2!

All dry now and 35F (feels like 23F) ... Good day to stay inside and cook and bake .... which is the plan anyway ... ;)

Sad to hear of so many people in the dark due to the winter storm... Guess only the “campers” will be prepared... :o Looks like an “Old School” Christmas for a lotta’ folks ...

There is one great advantage to living in the snow zone. We have a very long time when we are not swatting bugs.

Yeah , they all came down here !!! :o ...

I guess everybody is pretty much prepared up North for Cold weather, even modest homes have some sort of fireplace or WB stove... Here if it Freezes and the power goes out , we’re screwed... best we can do is throw some limbs in the burn barrel and stand around roasting “mickeys” ...

OK, forgive the city boy in me, but what is a 'mickey'? I think I'm too young, too "cityfied" or both to know what that is... :?
