ok i just have to laugh at that! i said hubby was making a pie, well i should have known better on that one. while he can cook, he just can't bake. :frightened: no one ate it, including the 2 yr old. so it ended up in the trash.

Eagle , with your storm testing of Foamies in TWO hurricanes , guess that answers the foamie durability question ... Heck of a way to do testing , but we appreciate it !!! Nothing like Experience ... terrifying , yes , but solid proof ...

Glad to hear all is OK. Being a west coaster and having been thru 3 major earthquakes I gotta say you folks who live in hurricane country are crazy! :? :? IMO, earthquakes are easier to deal with than hurricanes. NO DOUBT!!! Hurricanes scare the poop outta me! :frightened: :frightened:

tornadoes scare me more than any other thing mother nature throws at us. with hurricanes, we have plenty of warning its coming. the last two i have evac'd from, but this one we decided to stay (lack of money to leave). all 3 of them for us in this immediate area have not been too bad (so we lucked out). but i will be stashing away a hurricane fund, for the next one. i don't want to be here when it comes again.
hubby was oout yesterday doing some minor repairs from the wind damage. something on our house was just barely hanging on, some fencing in the back pasture in the woods area had to be fixed, and he fixed up his shed roof. the downed tree out front is still there, we don't have a chain saw so it will sit there a while. but all this is minor compared to what other areas have to deal with.

Bogo , True Dat’ !!!

Just had another strange idea ... ... a “patchwork“ Foamie skin .... :NC

Seen a lot of patchwork caps, quilts , toaster cozies , etc. etc. What about taking just common material scraps and use that for a “decorative “ skin ... either inside or out ... lots of little strips and patches, overlapped at the seams will be a lot stronger than just a solid piece... easier to glue on ... That and it’s Easy to find tons of material scraps from anybody that sews ... Could be Interesting and Thrifty !!! Sort of like a Granny’s Americana Camo pattern ...   You could go Crazy and do a quilt pattern too if you want “that” look... ... Would be Cool eh ? 8)

Looks like my narrow minded comment about where certain people choose to live got dumped. After posting that I regretted it, realizing that it was not very PC, and had a bit of a myopic slant.

Surely many people from all regions and walks of life have been affected by the storm.

My apologies go out to anyone who may have been offended.

A former Son in Law was in construction and there are lots of really cool archetectural shapes available in foam. They stucco right over them for detail on buildings. Got to think there could be some great custom shapes of TDs as a result
