You might want to try looking for old pop up/tent trailers that are all beaten up and nearly worthless. In fact, there are many that are seemingly headed for the scrap heap. I got lucky and found mine on CL. The guy was planning on rebuilding the old thing and had stripped it down. Well worth the money since I didn't have to do the demo myself, but he also threw out anything that might have been of some use or value. I see many of these stuck in backyards and along the sides of houses. Maybe worth knocking on the door and asking if they wouldn't mind you taking it off their hands.

I'll keep that in mind and an eye out for any finds. Thanks for the heads up!
