Our Southeastern Road Trip

Postby Mell On Wheels » Mon Jan 30, 2012 10:14 am

We just got home from a 3-week road trip, to the Southeast. We spent 3-4 days in each place... stayed in State Parks in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and South Carolina. We had a blast!

Here is the link to my first review of the trip. I started with my favorite place of all... Hunting Island, South Carolina.

I just added a review of Skidaway Island State Park, which is located just SE of Savannah, Georgia.

Mell,

Thanks form sharing your trip detail.
Would love to go camping on the Carolina coast. But it is just a little bit too long a drive. Guess the time share in Charleston will do. Oh to camp on the beach and eat fresh seafood.......
Guess it has to go on the bucket list to do after I'm retired.

In the early spring we will visit our daughter in Catawba SC. It's about 300 miles further to Huntington but it looks like a destination. We try to combine the visit with other sites. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for reading! The Carolina/Georgia coast is absolutely beautiful. It's one of my favorite places on earth. I have a review of Tybee Island, Georgia that will be published, soon. It is beautiful, but we didn't camp there. We didn't find a single place in coastal SC/Georgia that we didn't fall in love with!
