I really want to go to this!

Postby stbuch » Sun Jul 30, 2006 6:37 pm

We're dying to go to this rally but don't know if we can get all our ducks in a row. I teach and the first full day of school is the Monday after the rally. I'm going to really try to get everything done this week, but the earliest we could get there would be Friday night.

Good grief, isnt it the weekend yet?
Maybe if I sleep in the camper the week
will pass faster

Hello everyone, Bentley here. This will be the third weekend in a row that I have camped in the area not to far from Wytheville and I wanted to suggest you bring some type of fan ( if you don't have AC) for daytime temps of high 80's to low 90's but you might bring a jacket for the nights. The temps at night are great but two weeks ago in nearby Sparta N.C. coats were needed two nights in a row. Just be prepared for any kind of weather, that is part of the beauty of this area. Thanks to the ones putting in alot of planning. Got to go unpack from this past weekends BlueRidge Parkway trip (highly suggested) to repack the Kit for more fun.

just a little bit of North/South humor

THE TICKET

One morning, three Southerners and three Yankees were in a ticket counter line at a train station. The three Northerners each bought a ticket while the three southerners bought just one.

"How are the three of you going to travel on only one ticket?" asked one of the Yankees.

"Watch and learn," answered one of the boys from the South.

All six boarded the train where the three Yankees sat down, but the three Southerners crammed into a toilet together and closed the door.

Shortly after the train departed, the conductor came around to collect tickets. He knocked on the toilet door and said, "Ticket, please."

The door opened just a crack and a single arm emerged with a ticket in hand. The conductor took it and moved on.

The Yankees saw this happen and agreed it was quite a clever idea. Indeed, so clever they decided to do the same thing on the return trip and save some money.

That afternoon when they got back to the station, they bought a single ticket for the return trip and watched, while to their astonishment, the three Southerners didn't buy even one ticket. "How are you going to travel without a ticket?" asked a perplexed Yankee.

"Watch and learn," answered the three Southern boys in unison. When they boarded the train, the three Northerners crammed themselves into a toilet and the three Southerners crammed into another toilet just down the way.

Shortly after the train began to move, one of the Southerners left their toilet and walked over to the toilet in which the Yankees were hiding. The Southerner knocked on the door and said, "Ticket, please."

There's just no way on God's green earth to explain how the Yankees ever won the war.

Carla and I are packed and ready to head out the door. Everyone drive careful and we will see ya when we see ya.

We are having an out pour of people wanting to attend.....SOOOOOO to accommodate everyone ( we don't want to turn anyone away) we have permission to double up on sites. This is the way it NEEDS TO WORK: find someone else that you are willing to share a site with. When you arrive at the campground....pick your site and then go to the office and let them know that you are doubling up with....WHATZ ER NAME......... If you double up on a site, you will pay $15.00 plus tax. Otherwise, if you are on a single site you will pay around $27.00.

Here is a short list of those who are doubling up:
Ross & Woody
Chip & Pete
Frank & Alan
Clyde & Bentley
Todd & Len
Ed & Bob

We are outta here,

We'll share with whomever can stand an obnoxious little dog.

On the other hand, you guys might get there before us. We're leaving on Friday to come up.
