Since you are presently among the unemployed, why don't you pack up and come down here and help me build mine?

That is, if Jim doesn't rope him into finishing his first.

T@B Cost

Postby Finntec » Sat Apr 08, 2006 10:00 pm

FYI When I went to my local Camping World Dealer, they said that even though the sticker is 10K, if I bought one today I could get it for about 8K. I talked to a dealer at an RV show and they said the same, that was last year fall 2004.

Ray & Debby,

I've seen one similar to what you are talking about. It was a filon covered T@B with an ice box instead of a fridge, and standard fittings, lights and hardware, instead of the deluxe stuff. It had steel wheels and it didn't have a furnace. There's lots of games these RV dealers play!

Mike,
You are correct! I think that was the same model/options they talked to us about. If I was going to get one, I would have to get it loaded, or I'd build one myself. I'd like an Airstream, but they cost soooo much. Most of us seem to be able to build better campers than what are commercally available on the low to mid end...plus its so much fun. :)

I resemble that remark. Sadly.

The fidget :)

Postby Rebel » Mon Apr 10, 2006 3:41 pm

Since the widget, tidget, and midget names are already in use, guess I will use fidget :D . Anyway, here is a sketch of a floor plan but that is all i got at the moment. This is about 6 inches wider than the T@B, and maybe 12 inches longer to allow for a shower pan and potty. Like some others, I am looking for some light weight construction techniques anywhere one can use them. Here is the sketch: http://www.poplarcreek.net/snapshots/fidget.jpg

Nice floor plan. I'd like to make a suggestion, though. (feel free to tell me to stuff it if you like) I notice you have your shower pan against the front of the trailer where the front wall will be curved. Since most of the showering will be done standing and the "other" sitting, why not reverse the porta-pottie and shower? Just a thought.

Rebel,

Why not combine the two into one... And you can shove the portapotty out of the way when showering... a recess under the counter, accessable from the bathroom would be an option...

Oh, I assumed they were in the same room.............just that the shower head was against the front wall.

Oh, you're probably right...

I'm looking for a picture of that arrangement... I remember seeing it in two places...

Ah here is one... It's not exactly the one I was looking for... the one I was looking for is the bathroom in the McQuay Norris teardrop... does anyone have that handy?
