One more question... where did you order the flooring?

I can't find the receipt for the flooring, I will try and look for it.

Found it! http://www.modutile.com/coin-interlocki ... -gray.html $2.00 a sq ft.

Love the build.

Watch out for the HD cabinets. I had to readjust my drawers a few times. They kept jamming. And that was in my garage. I can only imagine them bouncing down the road.

I am a supermoto guy. So I figure that a SM is maybe 3" shorter than a dirt bike? What's the length of one?

Anybody find an affordable roll out awning? I see them for $4-500.00 for a 12' one, seems like a lot?

Any ideas?

A bag awning for a pop-up is probably your best option for that trailer. They are easy to put up and take down with a little practice. It is what I went with on my build because I wanted to be able to open my door back all the way if needed and wouldn't be able to with a regular RV awning. Mine came from here http://www.rvworkshop.com/index.php/pro ... rkShop-844

Nice! Which one did you buy, the supreme or regular? do I buy a 10' one for a 12' trailer?
Thanks for your help!

I have the regular. No reason to buy the supreme. My trailer is 12 ft on the flat sides and I bought an 11ft awning. They recommend the center joist for awnings over 10 ft but don't waste your money. It is not needed on the 11-12 footers.

Thanks!
I have beefed up the cabinets where ever possible, they weren't very well made that's for sure.

The bikes are just under 7' each.

Can you tell me a little bit about the mounting? My trailer has a lifetime warranty against leaks in the roof as long as I don't compromise it.

I am wondering myself how it's mounted and how does it work? There website really doesn't show anything and none of the other manufacturers show anything?

For any type of RV awning you have to put a track or channel on the trailer for the rope sewn into the edge of the awning to slide into. These awnings are contained in the bag when stowed and the bag is what has the edge sewn into. The track is on that website I posted and when you look at the pictures it will be self explanatory. It will require about 15 Screw holes inte the side or roof of the trailer, but easily sealed with RV type caulk. http://www.rvworkshop.com/index.php/cat ... ning-track

Door latch is one of the last things and third(really 4th) times a charm!

I tried a screen door latch as someone had suggested..no good. I tried a regular door knob...no good. Than I saw this latch on Ebay and sold by
www.teardroptrailerparts.com and although I had ordered a right hand I switched to a left but it was to late, They did switch it for no charge and was very happy with the service! Someone answered the phone and took care of it, nice!!!

Image

So I had to drill another hole in the trailer which always makes me nervous...measured 5 times cut once.

Image

Copious amounts of silicone before installation,

Image

Outside is done, lever moves to the left so bar is not in way.

Image

I had to shim up the door and had this left over,

Image

3 pieces worked good but would have to shim the "striker" side,

I made a strike plate up and beveled the edge and it worked great!

waow; you dun! :applause:

thanks for posting so many pics and showing your progress; I like your organized neat work.

awning - why not get one of those free standing metal framed fold up picnic awnings? I got a 12X12 X8ht that fits over my 6X10 CT. that way I can adjust the cover and sometime I wna t to shad the trailer in the heat. Just My 2 cents.

Happy trails ! :)

now if the snow would melt!

Thanks BC!

Almost done....few details still remain one of which is to paint the bottom of the cabinets

I have a 10x10 popup awning which we have used for years, I don't have a great place to store it in the trailer is one issue, there a pain to put up and down is another. I will use it for awhile until I can $ave up for a bag awning.

I will give you a great reason to have an awning on the trailer. When it is pouring down rain it is nice to be able to open the trailer door and not have rain pouring down on your head or into the trailer. I also carry and use 2 10X10 First up awnings just because I like to have a lot of shade and a place to park the motorcycles in bad weather.
