"the luxury tent"

General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

I've been known to describe it as a "tent on wheels". In Socal, desert camping is very common. If you have spent anytime in the desert you know the wind blows frequently, and when it blows it blows hard. So the people see the advantage of a "hard sided" tent. Most of my trips recently have been with my parents in their 40 ft RV. We have the shower and the toilet, and then my bed is more comfortable ( and more private) than staying inside with them.

Since the Command Post is a standy, does that make it a luxury family cabin tent? :dancing:
It is sort of, roughly teardrop shaped, just BIG. No galley, all the cooking will be done outside, probably on an open fire. We built so big because we wanted to be able to stand up to dress inside, and we wanted to have all our camping stuff stored on board so we could just hitch up, and it's an instant camping trip.
I guess luxury tent really does apply, it's just quite a big tent. :)

I usually tell people it's basically a bed on wheels with a little galley in the back.
Life is sooooo good.........
