As Bobhenry posted earlier, a mini fridge will use 1.2A at 120V. That's 12 amps at 12V. Figure a 50% duty cycle and that's 6 amp-hrs for a mini-fridge versus 0.5 amp-hrs for a Waeco (they were bought by Dometic so I guess they aren't Waecos anymore). So they really do work that much better.

The magic chef, dometic and STE ice makers appear to be made by the same company. Mine is a 120 watt and I have run it successfully used in on a small inverter. My ice maker makes about 35 pounds/day, I get about a 1 gal zip lock bag in less than 1 hour. Yes, it is not insulated, and the capacity is small, but it works well for us.
