tiny west marine panel

Postby markhusbands » Mon Apr 08, 2013 7:02 pm

I am thinking of powering 4 very small LED lights (2 in galley, 1 each porch) , one small van-air fan, one double reading light, and 2-3 12v plugs. I am tempted to get this very affordable west marine panel with four fuses and two integral 12v plugs.

Any thoughts?

Looks good. I've had good results with West Marine products in my teardrop. And they have a "no questions asked" warranty.

I take it you are making other provisions for charging your battery?

Yeah. With the very limited amp hours I need, I think I'll use something like a motorcycle battery in a tongue box, and just hook a portable charger up to the posts each time I come home from a 1-2 night trip. Later I may come up with a solar charging option - but probably a little portable unit rather than something integral.

I actually like the brushed plate on the one in the photo better - cosmetically. Where did you find that one?
