I was very fortunate to have a job where I earned enough to buy the tools that I wanted. Many of them, I have had for nearly 50 years. Many were scrounged, found, given to me or just seemed to appear. As I mentioned in the video, there are 13 Crescent wrenches in the drawer. I can recall buying one. Screwdrivers multiply like rabbits. I have, probably, 300 sockets. I've bought, maybe, half of them. I got two milk crates full of end wrenches and sockets from work. They were going into the trash. Every one was a quality American tool. Government waste at it's finest. I kept the ones I wanted and eBayed the rest. A lot of my stuff came from pawn shops. Some were my Dad's and my uncle's. Some, unfortunately, were my late son's. The big lathe and a bunch of other stuff came from a friend's estate. Some are home made. I mentioned to an old guy up the road from me that I didn't own a Sawzall. He came back the next day with a brand new one and handed it to me. Said he had 3 of them and had gotten this one as a gift. I think when you're a tool guy, tools just seem to find you somehow. Now that I am on fixed income, I will not be making any more big purchases, but that's cool. I have all I need..................for nowLonnie Mac wrote:CarlLaFong wrote:For those who didn't get enough of my messy shop in the previous post, I uploaded the entire video to Youtube. Ha! The shop of my dreams! There is not a tool you don't have.
