My bad ... ...!

Pre-Registrations close on the 28th, not the 18 as previously stated ... it's been corrected in the original post. Y'All have another full week to pre-register ... ;)

Only 7 days until the Dam Gathering. this will be my second Dam Gathering and my 3rd total gathering of teardroppers.

I want to take the time to write what a awesome journey it has been to become a teardropper. Its really is an amazing culture, rich in people (real people) ideas and friendships. When I first had the idea to build a tiny trailer I had no idea of the many layers of this culture that would unfold. I thought I was just trying to get up off the ground and do a little more camping. I had no idea that it was possible to meet people from all over the country (the world it seems) and go camping together, learn about each others lives and taste each others food.

I was always envious of people I knew who had large organized group campouts that had been going on for years and years (mostly family camps). My family is not large nor do most of them like to camp.

Thank you all for this experience, is had been awesome. My only regret is not finding this site sooner. See you all at the Dam, if not in person at least in spirit.

Well said Kirk
We too have entered the Teardrop World to get up off of the ground after many years of tent camping.
We did have an idea (or at least a hope) of what to expect, as we have been part of another family of campers.......Street Rodders for most of our lives.
So Teardrop Gatherings for us will be similar to the Rod Runs we have been attending for over 35 years, but with new faces. We look forward to meeting many new friends and sharing a lot of laughs and good times!
Entering into our retirement years, this seems like the perfect vehicle (pardon the pun) to take us into our future adventures and travels.
The Forum has just been an added Bonus to the what we had expected from the hobby. As it not only helped us with our build, but kept our interest up over the long winter months. And has now become a planning tool for the trips we hope to take with our new teardrop.
Good Roads

PS
See you at the Dam!

Well Kirk, I guess I listen to a different drummer when I go to one of those crowded campout events. I always set up my rig well away from any nosey on-lookers and even have a cardboard sign aboard that says "Go away, Leave me alone". I make it a point not to make eye contact with others, because they would probably come over and "bother me".

Now if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you..... I started going to the Dam Gathering 10 years ago, and it is one of my favorite Gatherings. Grant does a great job, putting it all together. I'll probably have the shortest, narrowest, lowest, cheapest and most ugly trailer there, so I'm not hard to find. Actually, I've been taking yoga lessons, so I can get my knees up to my ears for almost all night, as I sleep in my 4 ft long bit of unimaginable camping comfort. I'm looking forward to meeting you, and I am enthused that you are so content with our lifestyle. Long live teardrops.

Roly I have met you and Roxy twice. Just keep coming to the gatherings and maybe you will come out of your shell.
