But I have been looking around and now I am thinking along this line...

I am having a hard time deciding. Any thoughts????

Let me ask you a question. Do you want to build a teardrop that I like or one that you will like and enjoy?

If you have to ask this question, you're not ready to build. Go out and look at more teardrops and then decide. Remember, you're building the teardrop for you, not for us.

Personally I think the one with the round nose looks like a horse trailer.

I'm with Gage on this one. The aesthetics of a thing is so subjective and personal. And it isn't just aesthetics. There's this intangible, impossible to describe "how it makes me feel" factor. If you're going to take the time to build this yourself, it really should be a labor of love. Asking someone else to choose your design for you is like posting pictures of two women you're seeing and asking the forum to pick which one you should marry.

I chose my Benroy design for a couple of practical reasons like the increased headroom overall, the availability of plans, and the simplicity of it, but the true bottom line is that I just like the way it looks!! If I hadn't, the rest wouldn't have mattered. But not everyone finds it attractive. The opinions of those who might say they don't like that design wouldn't have meant squat to me. They didn't have to build it and they won't be camping in it. When I look at it, it makes me smile, so I know I chose correctly FOR ME.

If you have any opportunity to go to a gathering where there might be a lot of teardrops to look at, I would encourage you to do that. You might just fall in love with something. Where are you located? There are a couple of big ones coming up. The DAM is next weekend I think, and the CRA is in July.

Now, if you want to ask more specific questions such as the build complexity of one design over another, cost considerations of different build methods or materials, or the advantages or disadvantages of particular design elements, then you might get some answers that could actually be useful in firming up your idea of what you want to do.

Whatever you decide, I wish you the best of luck. You'll know her when you see her.

I know it is my td and I have to enjoy it like it and build it. I am thinking out loud . I like all three styles. Each one has it good points and bad points. I am really leaning on the round nose one.
I guess I should have started out with " Thinking out loud but stumped"
I thank yall for yer input and I wanted to see what yall would like, or say. Once I settle on one I will let it be known.
thanks again

I am looking forward to which one you choose. I like the round nose one but I think it is the woodwork I like the best.

Oh I forgot . I live in Louisiana. Near new Orleans. I have not seen any gatherings around here. But I really have not looked very hard.
I think I am going to dray up the plans for the round one. The more I looks at it the more I like it. I guess I will post on the build journal?? Dont know .

As I am in the build process now I have found that things are changing from my original concept. That too can happen to you. I might say you can build your own and change up the design some that is perfectly acceptable. I agree that it is your TD and you can think out of the Box and do your own. Just a thought!! Oh yea, welcome!!!

Gage,
Sometimes you open your mouth and in just a few words you say something so profound, so insightful, yet so simply that it really makes me proud to call you a friend. This is one of those times.

I know there's a big gathering in Louisiana called the LCG, but I'm not sure when.

Found it, but it's not until October. Here is the link

I know that anyone who lives near me is more than welcome to check out my Teardrop at any time. That being said, maybe there is someone in your neck of the woods that would do the same in order to give you some first hand ideas.

:applause: :applause: Gage, sometimes, you're a real gem and I mean that in the best possible way.

Rdy2sail: ....My personal opinion...: The Benroy might be the easiest because there are plans and instructions to be found at the top of the screen, in the pull-downs of Design Resources.
