Week till the big lift

Postby webbaldo » Thu Apr 25, 2013 3:14 am

Well next weekend is probably the most scary moment of my build.

Me and a few Rugby mates will be carrying my TD down the garden and over a 5 ft fence, into nextdoors garden then round to my drive!

Only way to get it out the rear of the house.

I planned the build round it, so it fits well. Its completely stripped of any weight I can remove, doors/cupboard doors/hatch and chassis itself.

Will still weigh around 120-140kg (260lb-ish) like so it will be interesting to see how it goes. Ive bubble wrapped it to avoid any scratches.

We are experienced tho, have moved 2 full classic mini shells round before so it should hopefully go ok!

Webbaldo,

Good luck with the lift.
Sounds more awkward than heavy. A few solid Rugby blokes should have no problems.
I found a book of Rugby songs recently. I can give you a few to ease the pain and coordinate the move if you want. I guess you would know most of them by heart anyway.

Take it easy.

Webbaldo,

I still know a lot of them myself.
I have been collecting Limericks and Rugby songs for quite some years.
The problem I have these days is to find like minded individuals to sing them with.
The Engineers Song is a favourite.

Take it easy.

apparently your all Tee-Total slipper wearing peace makers now!

What happened to the good old lets drink at Bathurst and beat ford or holden owners up?

I heard they limited the daily limit of drink to just 24 cans now!? (seriously lol)

Webbaldo,

Yeah I guess I am guilty of letting the side down as the years have crept up on me. I probably spill more of my drink than I actually drink these days.

Take it easy.
