At first I was not having much luck with SketchUp. I was not really trying to make something, I was just messing around trying to figure it out. Did not get very far that way, I think because I did not have much focus. I was trying to learn how to use it before I started to design my trailer. I finally decide just to design my profile and layout in SketchUp and figure it out as I went along. The profile and layout ended up not being to bad, so I decided to model it in 3D. That is when it became a little more difficult. When I could not figure out how to make what I wanted I did a search in Google and would watch videos to see how other people were doing things. Finally managed to get it modeled.
The first trailer design and model took a long time to do. Now I can do one in less than an hour, if I do not put in a lot of detail.
I did create some videos to show people how to use SketchUp to design and model a teardrop trailer. If you watch the videos it should help alot with learning SketchUp. I have learn even more since then and can to it fast and better, but only because I have spent many many hours playing around with the program.
Now if I would only spend that time actually finishing my real trailer...
