Friends, I had all the intentions in the world of doing a nice build thread like many of you have done, but I quickly found out I could either work on my build or write about it, but I didn't have time to do both! SO with that being said we are just gonna skip over all the in between steps and just go to the pictures of "Clark" on the road!
Some of you may remember the thread where several of us talked about we came up with names for out trailers and I described how I came up with "Clark" from my favorite movie, Christmas Vacation, "that's an RV, Clark". Anyway back to the story, I have
received lots of help from folks here and bought many of the parts from Grant (thanks buddy!) and would like to thank each of you for the help!
I wanted a traditional "hot rod" look so the side are built out of maple and mahogany (classic "Woody" construction) with a bunch of coats of System 3 "clear coat" penetrating epoxy which gave it a nice amber tint and then 5 coats of the System 3 polyurethane gloss clear. The fenders are from Grant, the roof is black aluminum, the wheels are 15" Torque Thrust II. The inside is all maple with a water based poly which keep the wood very light and natural looking. The wood in the galley area is aromatic cedar with maple trim and counter tops. Behind the awesome lift up counter my lovely wife painted is the AC unit.
I still need to build the tongue box for the generator and battery, finish the slide out for the cooler in the galley and then a bunch of general cleaning up to do, but at least it is street legal and is going on a 2500 mile trip next week.
Now I just need to see if I can make the pictures show up...
Glenn
