I took off time to do a bit of camping at the Dam. The weather was fabulous...pool felt good on my sore back, able to sleep nights with the trailer door open. I did pick up the cushions and the awning for the trailer while at the Dam. The bit of orange in the seat cushions is tied in to a shot of it in the curtains as well. All the lines line up perfectly. Seat height in relation to the table top worked out great! The awning is of the same material with a scalloped edge with gray fringe. No pics on it till I get the aluminum on and painted. Doug

Thanks everyone...nice to see all of you that were at the Dam. I was a bit out of sorts with a screwed up back...in fact, Wed. morning it took me about 15 minutes to get out of the tear. Some time with an ice pack, fistfuls of Ibuprofin, a bit of time in the pool and Shelly's talented hands got me mobile before it was all over.

Today I picked up 45' of 103" .040 aluminum for the skin from Wabash trailer. No one around has any thinner material in that width on a coil and when it's all said and done, it was 25 cents a square foot cheaper than the .030 4x8 sheets. It's got some marks in it, but it all gets painted anyway. The .040 will also take a hit from dropping pine cones much better than the thinner material and also won't tend to oil can.

I'll be able to do both sides in 1 single piece, and 3 shorter pieces for the roof. Steve E is coming by in the morning and we will start hanging aluminum. I also picked up 80' of cap trim. Hope to get a fair amount of work done tomorrow. Thanks for watching. Doug

That is when a large flat piece of metal sets up "waves" of motion in it causing noise and other effects. A good way to make "Thunder" in a stage show. That was in days before electronics.

Hi Doug - enjoyed seeing your work at the Dam Gathering as well. I'm thinking of sanding and painting my .040 mill finish aluminum using a HVLP sprayer. Any hints/suggestions you can give for getting good results and a durable finish? Self-etching primer first?

Thanks.
