Building a Kuffel creel 4'x10'

Postby JoeDPierce » Fri May 17, 2013 1:30 pm

My wife bought us plans for this trailer about 4 1/2 years ago with the idea I could build it and take wonderful trips. She died in a diving accident 3 years ago, and the plans just sort of went on a very back burner! Well, I decided that I would really like to build the trailer, sort of part of her and me. I have the frame and floor built, over built is probably more accurate. I have been a carpenter for 30 years, so I tend to over build things. I have gained a lot of useful info on this site and would like to thank everyone for the info. Hopefully I will have the trailer ready by mid-summer. I live in Maryland, and there are a lot of places to camp around here. I would like to get out before summer is over. I look forward to hopefully meeting some of the locals when I get out. ;)

Good plan Joe.

I just met 200+ great people at the Teardrop gathering in CA. If you getting heavy into making the saw dust,
document , take pictures, and post a build log in the build journaled area. No matter what your skill level
is your build might give rise to a idea for other to do as well.

Welcome to the forums.

Welcome to the group Joe.

Congrats and deciding to build, sounds as if it will be a very special project.

My first build was using the Kuffle plans, easy to modify, and with your experience as a carpenter, sure you'll have plenty of ideas. Like already said, start a build journal and share the pics. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions, we have all been there! Heck, I'm still asking when the need arises!

Look forward to seeing your build!
